PROBLEM WITH THE COMMUNITY'S EXIT GATE

​As you are all well aware, our community's entrance and exit gates have experienced numerous outages over the past few months, including a lightning strike that caused multiple circuit boards to fail. Long lead times required to acquire the replacement circuit boards created a gates locked-open situation for longer than any of us wanted.

Since the new boards have been installed, the exit gate has intermittently failed to open when vehicles were trying to exit the community, creating yet another gates locked-open situation.

​​

Earlier today, our service provider (Automatic Access Systems, Inc.) determined that the sensors, that are embedded in the surface of the roadway and detect when a vehicle wants to exit, have failed and need to be replaced.

​

We are working with the service provider to expedite repairs. In the meantime, both gates will remain locked open.
 

​Both gates will be placed back in service when the exit gate sensors have been replaced.

​

The City of W. Melbourne Police Department has again agreed to perform extra security patrols through our community while our gates are locked open.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

​The Sheridan Woods Community Association is in urgent need of volunteers to join the team in 2027. Our community depends upon on your support to fill the following board & committees:

 

• Board of Directors (BOD) — Establishes and enforces community policies. Manages association finances and assets. Addresses homeowner's concerns and complaints.

 

• Architectural Review Committee (ARC) — Reviews plans submitted for all improvements for approval or disapproval, conducts annual property inspections, prepares reports of said inspections and reviews properties that are not within C&R guidelines.

 

• Fining Committee (FC) — Holds a review/hearing to determine if a fine is justified, records their decision and forwards that decision to the Board.
